Why do I need to verify my identity on Stablehouse?

Stablehouse is a regulated financial services company operating in Bermuda. As such, we are required to identify anyone who wishes to use our platform. Identity verification ensures that we remain in compliance with KYC/AML laws in the jurisdictions in which we operate.

What’s AML?

AML also known as Anti-Money Laundering refers to the laws, regulations, and procedures set out to prevent criminals from disguising illegally obtained funds as legitimate income.

What’s KYC?

KYC is a standard in the investment industry, designed to protect both clients and investment advisors. Also known as Know Your Client or Know Your Customer, it ensures investment advisors have detailed information about their clients' risk tolerance, financial position, and investment knowledge.

AML and by extension KYC, are ways of identifying and confirming that customers are who they say they are. Both act as a multi-step process that helps to prevent the creation and use of fraudulent accounts, ultimately to prevent and detect money laundering and terrorist financing.
